Heat pump questions in Cambridge

How much does an air source heat pump cost in Cambridge?

Most UK air source heat pump installations run £10,000–£14,000 before support. After the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, typical Cambridge households pay £2,500–£6,500 — and off-gas-grid homes replacing oil or LPG qualify for £9,000 from 21 July 2026. Compare at least three quotes; the spread on identical hardware is routinely £2,000+.

What heat pump grant can I get in Cambridge?

Cambridge is covered by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme: £7,500 off an air or ground source heat pump for property owners replacing fossil fuel or electric heating, rising to £9,000 for off-gas-grid homes replacing oil, LPG or coal from 21 July 2026. Your MCS-certified installer applies on your behalf and deducts it from the quote.

How do I check a Cambridge installer is MCS-certified?

Search the official MCS register at mcscertified.com/find-an-installer — certification is what makes you grant-eligible, so verify before signing anything. Every listing on this page links to the register; the 3 installers listed here describe themselves as MCS-certified on their own websites.
