Accessibility statement
Last reviewed 6 July 2026
PumpLocal is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA — the standard referenced by the UK Equality Act 2010 and the accompanying public-sector accessibility regulations.
What we've done
- Text and interface colours meet the WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and controls).
- Every interactive element is reachable and operable with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline.
- A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the navigation.
- Pages use semantic HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a logical heading order.
- The grant calculator uses labelled question groups, communicates the selected option to assistive technology, and announces its result in a live region.
- Animation is reduced automatically for anyone who sets “reduce motion” in their system.
- Content reflows without loss of function down to a 320px-wide screen and up to 400% zoom.
Known limitations
We test with automated tooling and manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, but we cannot guarantee every page is free of every barrier. If you find something that doesn't work for you, please tell us — we treat access problems as priority fixes.
Reporting a problem
Email hello@heatpumplocal.co.uk with the page address and a short description of the issue and the assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within five working days.
This statement reflects our ongoing effort to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. It is a good-faith summary of our accessibility work, not a legal certification.
